Consignment Policy

Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing Luxxedition.

Our mission is to provide a secure and seamless experience for consignors. By consigning or selling with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Brands We Accept

We accept both vintage and new items in excellent to new condition from the following designer brands:

Bottega Veneta, Celine, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Hermès, Loewe, and Saint Laurent.

We primarily focus on the following categories: Handbags, SLGs (small leather goods), and select accessories and jewelry. Items from brands outside of this list may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

2. Item Eligibility

We only accept authentic luxury items in excellent to new condition. All items must be pre-approved, and we reserve the right to decline any item upon inspection.

3. Quotes

We offer 3 options for selling your item:

  • Consignment
  • Buyout
  • Trade-in Credit

Based on the photos and details submitted through our intake form, we will provide:

  • An estimated listing price range (for consignment)
  • An estimated consignment take-back range (after fees)
  • A buyout or trade-in value (if requested)

We aim to respond within 1–3 business days. If you don’t hear back from us within that timeframe, please feel free to follow up.

4. Authentication

All items undergo an authentication process upon arrival.

Authentication Fee: $50 for all brands; $175 for Hermès. This fee is non-refundable and is deducted from your payout.

5. Consignment Fees

Our Consignment Fee is 12% of the Direct Bank Wire Pricing.

The Minimum Payout Threshold is $300 for bags, $200 for SLGs and jewelry. These fees cover photography, marketing, listing, customer service, and sales processing.

6. Listing & Sale Process

We only list items that are physically in our possession. Once received, your item will be professionally photographed and marketed across our platforms. Listings remain active until the item is sold, returned, or removed per the terms outlined below.

7. Payment

Once your item is sold and delivered to the buyer:

  • Consignment Payment: Issued within 3–5 business days
  • Buyouts/Trade-ins: Paid within 1–3 business days after authentication and inspection

8. Unsold Items & Returns

If your item hasn’t sold, you may request its return at any time. You must provide a return shipping label. Items will be returned within 3 business days.

If the return is requested within 60 days of consignment, the following fees apply:

  • $375 for Hermès items
  • $250 for all other brands

These fees cover intake, authentication, and processing.

9. Item Condition & Revisions

Final item condition is confirmed upon in-person inspection. If any issues such as odors, mold, or undisclosed alterations are found, a revised quote or rejection may occur.

If the item is returned due to a major discrepancy, a $150 handling fee applies, and return shipping is the consignor's responsibility.

10. Authenticity

We rigorously authenticate all items we receive. To discourage the submission of non-authentic goods:

  • A $250 return fee will apply for non-Hermès items deemed inauthentic
  • A $375 return fee will apply for Hermès items deemed inauthentic

This fee covers authentication, handling, and return shipping preparation.

11. Shipping Your Item

  • Shipping to us is at your expense. Please use discreet packaging and ship via any major carrier.
  • Insurance is optional but recommended and is the consignor's responsibility.

Packaging Guidelines:

  • Carefully wrap your item to avoid damage in transit
  • Tuck any chains under flaps and stuff the bag’s interior to help maintain its structure
  • Do not use boxes that are too small, as it can deform or damage the item

For international shipping, please reach out in advance with any questions regarding duties or customs fees.

We will confirm receipt of your item within 3 business days of delivery.

12. Selling Approach

Items are typically processed and listed within 4–6 business days of receipt. Each piece will be professionally marketed, which may include:

  • Product photography and video
  • Styled shoots, unboxings, or on-the-body modeling
  • Features in curated selections on our website and Instagram @Luxxedition

Once your item is sold, we’ll notify you promptly with the expected payout date.

13. Return Consignment

We only accept items we believe we can sell efficiently. If your item remains unsold after 60 days, you may request a return by providing a prepaid shipping label. Returns are processed within 2–3 business days of your request.

Return fees if requested before 60 days:

  • $250 for non-Hermès items
  • $375 for Hermès items

14. Payout Terms

We offer several payout options:

  • Zelle
  • Bank Wire
  • Wise
  • PayPal (Friends & Family)

Payments for sold items are typically sent within 5 business days after we receive full payment and the transaction is finalized. Please note that bank wire and Wise transfers may include fees, which are the responsibility of the consignor.

15. Agreement & Acknowledgement

By submitting your item(s) to Luxxedition, you acknowledge and agree to our consignment process, policies, fees, and responsibilities outlined in this document. You also confirm that, to the best of your knowledge:

  • The item(s) are 100% authentic
  • The item(s) were lawfully obtained
